PLANNING YOUR KID'S PARTY? IT’S EASIER THAN YOU THINK!

First birthday? Fourth birthday or even 15th Birthday! Planning your child’s party can feel like diving into a whirlwind of endless options and unexpected expenses but it doesn’t have to be that stressful! (Well only if you make it stressful... right?)

I have helped countless parents transform their ideas into unforgettable celebrations in the last two years we have have been open, and along the way picked up some helpful tips to make party planning a breeze.

So I thought, why not share them with you?

Ready to create a magical day your child will never forget? Follow our simple guidelines below! or don't, thats your choice.

Step 1: Start with Your Child’s Interests

This is the heart of any great party and who is the most important person of the party? YOUR CHILD!

Think about what makes your child light up with excitement. Do they have a favourite TV show, a hobby, or a sport they adore? Whatever it is, let that passion guide your theme because trust me ... this is going to make your child's dreams feel like a reality.

Remember, this is their day! While Pinterest perfect adult setups are gorgeous, a child’s party should be all about fun, interaction, and imagination, but also perfect to the parents eye. Swap florals and minimal decor for activities, themed treats, and magical touches that will captivate little hearts and minds. After all, their smiles are what make the day perfect and unforgettable.

Step 2: Create a Visual Concept

Get some paper or get on Canva and start brainstorming! Sketch out ideas or make a list of must haves. Visualising your plan will help you see what works and what might need tweaking. Sometimes, simple is better and less can be more when it comes to creating a cohesive and exciting look!

Choose a theme or colour scheme like a mermaid wonderland or a vibrant rainbow theme park. Be sure to involve your child in this step as their enthusiasm and ideas will make the theme even more special!

Step 3: Source Party Supplies & Support

If you’re working within a budget (or your time is limited), consider hiring a party planner (I will have something available online for this soon or hire a physical event stylist!). Planners and event stylists can often save you money and stress by sourcing everything you need.

Prefer a hands on approach and do it all yourself? Be clear with your suppliers about what you’re looking for, and don’t hesitate to show them photos for inspiration.

Pro tip: Ask for their advice, they might suggest cost effective alternatives or creative twists to bring your vision to life.

Like myself, I am brutally honest when it comes to clients and asking them what they are even putting in party boxes, this ensures I am not providing a product that was unnecessarily big for a few lollies in a gift bag.

Step 4: Focus on the Finer Details

The magic of a party lies in the little things! Custom decorations, themed party food, and thoughtful touches can transport your child and their friends into a whole new world of fun.

Think about themed cupcakes, personalised banners, or imaginative party setups that spark joy and creativity. These extra details are what turn a party into a cherished memory for your child and for everyone who attends.

Step 5: Involve Your Child in the Process

One of the most special parts of planning a party is the connection it creates between you and your child. Ask for their input, listen to their ideas, and make them a co creator in their celebration.

Not only will this ensure they’re thrilled with the final result, but it also turns the journey into a fun bonding experience you’ll both treasure.
